JAPAN NUKED BUT NOT KOREA

Response to reader re:
SOUTH KOREA'S HELL AT HAN

Yes, when Truman interfered with MacArthur in the running of the Korean War he caused the deaths of millions of Koreans and tens of thousands of American soldiers.

But I don't think it took any courage on Truman's part to drop the nuclear bomb on Japan. He merely did what he was told by its creators. Using a weapon like that on any nation is a crime against God and mankind.

History has taught us that Japan had actually surrendered and there was therefore no need for any more bombs to be dropped on that country, let alone a nuclear bomb. We also now know that the USA dropped the atomic bomb on Japan to prove to their ally, the USSR, that they were with them in their goals for that area.

You bring up an interesting point when you mention that Truman didn't use the nuclear bomb on North Korean soldiers but had no compunction about using it on Japanese civilians. Actually, the reason for that is because the powers-that-be in USA, Russia and China "prop each other up like three sheaves of corn" as Orwell explained in "1984". See 6.Superstates.

Orwell explained in an essay entitled YOU AND THE ATOMIC BOMB that the ownership of a nuclear bomb would concentrate power into the hands of only those nations with the money and the technology to create it and that it would thus make the inferior weapons of other nations count for nothing. He said that in this way the three Super States would be able to share in tyrannizing the world providing they promised never to use atomic bombs on each other.

History has also taught us that the man in charge of the building of the nuclear bomb in Los Alamos, New Mexico was a Communist agent. See ATOMIC BOMB SCIENTIST COMMUNIST.

That may also explain why the powers-that-be chose not to use the atomic bomb against the Communist North Koreans and why to this day the Western World is helping North Korea build its nuclear program: See NORTH KOREA'S NUCLEAR PROGRAM*.

Thanks for sending along your poems THE NIGHTMARE OF THE SCIENTIST and THE MISSION.

All the best,

*North Korea: Nuclear Program. MacNeil/Lehrer Productions
...After extended negotiation, North Korea and the United States entered into the "Agreed Framework" on Oct. 21, 1994. Under the deal, North Korea would suspend all work at the Yongbyon complex, end all efforts to enrich plutonium for weapons and open its facilities to international oversight. In exchange for these moves, the U.S. would supply North Korea with two light water reactors (LWRs) to generate electricity, and low-cost oil to help with energy needs until the reactors are built. The agreement also promised a lifting of most economic sanctions against North Korea, and improved diplomatic relations with the United States...."If the two light water reactors slated to be built in North Korea are operated to optimize power production, they will discharge about 500 kg of reactor-grade plutonium a year in highly radioactive spent fuel....Oil deliveries began in early 1995....The U.S., South Korea, Japan and several other countries came together to form the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization (KEDO) to build the reactors.... Kim Jong Il's government could produce more than a dozen atomic bombs a year.
