In our time we are looking at the European Union and the Russian Federation. We will eventually be at war?? While possible, it looks far fetched.

Microchip implants? On any wholesale basis into the general population. Very doubtful. 1st the govenments of the world have an efficient tracking ability at present. 2nd a British firm has a plastic strip, like a hospital band, that can do the same thing which should be on the market 2007-8. I guess those who would support the micro chip idea would argue that it would at least i.d. you if killed and dropped in a field. Given modern tech a killer would have a scanner, find it and remove it.

More hype than anything else - micro chips will never fly with humans.

It's true that there are probably easier ways of tracking human beings than going to the expense and inconvenience of microchipping. Afterall, if they can put a sticky label on every apple and orange a person buys (and grapes next no doubt) I guess a sticky label would work on humans too. But that would be easy for humans to remove, should they not "voluntarily" allow themselves to be numbered and scanned at the whim of the powers-that-be.

Perhaps microchipping will only be for those who are less inclined to co-operate with less invasive forms of monitoring and mind-control technology.

I hope you're right that microchips will never fly with humans.
