CABARET COMING UP FOR ORWELL

To Orwell Today,

Hi Jackie,

Exciting news - a theatre in London wants to put on my cabaret 'One Georgie Orwell'. The idea is to have a half-hour "taster session" in June to gauge the response.

The turning point has been finding a great local singer-songwriter who is working on the songs. If/when it hits the stage I intend to dedicate it to you.

Best wishes,
Peter Cordwell

Greetings Peter,

That IS exciting news - I've been thinking about you lately and wondering how it's coming along.

I'm listening to your Southwold Morning Song (sung by your friend Dave) as I write this. See ORWELL TRIBUTE SONG

I've just now finished reading your other two songs (that weren't set to music yet) and wonder if they'll be on the cabaret repertoire. See DOWN THE MINE & GROUCHY MARXIST

Hey, remember how we were discussing one time how there isn't a statue of Orwell in England or anywhere else in the world? See ORWELL STATUE & SONG

Well, in case you missed the news, there IS one now. See ORWELL STATUE IN MOTIHARI

In my dreams... I'm flying to London for the opening performance of your cabaret, then off to Motihari to pay homage to the statue and deliver memorabilia (collected by fans) to the museum. See ORWELL MOTIHARI MEMORIAL MATERIAL.

All the best,
Jackie Jura
