I believe in Dante's adage that
"the hottest places in hell
are reserved for those who, in time of crisis,
remain neutral."
NEUTRAL NOT RWANDA REPEAT
The killers weren't neutral and the survivors weren't neutral.
And in reading about the killers and the survivors I'm not neutral either.
I'm on the side of those who survived
and those who helped them survive.

re: response to email from Hiram who doesn't share my views about leadership in Rwanda
Greetings Hiram,
Thank you for writing with your comments on my articles about Rwanda and President Kagame. I always appreciate hearing from Rwandans - even if they don't agree with my thoughts about their country and its leader.
But just because you're Rwandan doesn't mean you know or speak the truth about Rwanda, the genocide and its past and present governments.
You accuse me of not being "neutral" as though there's something wrong with that.
I, however, believe in Dante's adage that "the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in time of crisis, remain neutral".
Much of the blame for the genocide in Rwanda can be laid at the feet of people who remained "neutral" - including the U.N. whose soldiers were there and did NOTHING to help General Kagame and the RPA stop the genocide.
You tell me to "listen, listen....and listen and then speak" when in fact I HAVE listened before I spoke. But when I spoke, I spoke in favour of Kagame and the RPF, and that seems to be a problem for you.
Today a new book I ordered arrived in the mail. It's entitled INTO THE QUICK OF LIFE by Jean Hatzfeld. It describes the genocide from the survivors' point of view.
Last week I read a book by the same author entitled MACHETE SEASON which describes the genocide from the killers' point of view.
The killers weren't neutral and the survivors weren't neutral. And in reading about the killers and the survivors I'm not neutral either. I'm on the side of those who survived and those who helped them survive.
I won't respond to your "Facts #1 and #2" because I've already done so in articles under the RWANDA'S GOOD MAN KAGAME section of my website.
All the best,
Jackie Jura
