I came across this article online yesterday, featured in Newsweek:

Generation Diva: How our obsession with beauty is changing our kids. Newsweek, Mar 30, 2009

I know that there is a great concern that our young girls are experimenting with sex and dating at earlier and earlier ages. People SHOULD be concerned about the sexualization of our children, but what of the concern in this article — that we are teaching girls to become part of "Generation Diva" and be obsessed with beauty, makeup, glamour, thinness, and looks? I know this is not a new phenomenon by any means, but does BIG BROTHER get anything out of our precious "little divas"?

Thanks for sending the link to that "Generation Diva" article. I actually caught a snippet of that "Toddlers & Tiaras" reality TV show it mentions when I was at a friend's house last week. She was channel-surfing to show me something else - and it was shocking to see a little girl - maybe around 4 or 5 years old - mimicking the facial and body language of a stripper. This went beyond the JonBenet type pageants and got us talking about the conspiracy theories behind that little beauty-queen's murder on Christmas Day in 1996 - and how far down the road to child-pornography the mainstream networks have come in the years since. I'd followed that case very closely and have a few books on the tragedy, the best one being by Steve Thomas, the lead detective entitled INSIDE THE RAMSEY MURDER INVESTIGATION:

Yes, BIG BROTHER is actually the force behind the sexualization of children and creation of the "Generation Diva" phenomenon described in that article. BIG BROTHER (through its BROTHERHOOD) owns the media which targets specific age-groups pushing so-called "beauty" products (owned by corporations owned by members of THE BROTHERHOOD) on programs from cartoons through to hard-core pornography. As Orwell said in "1984":

"The aim of BIG BROTHER is to corrupt the minds of children...encourage prostitution; disseminate venereal diseases; do anything which is likely to cause demoralization of society..." etc.
