To Orwell Today,

Dear Jackie,

Nice to hear from you again re: WHERE'S JFK WE HARDLY KNEW YE?

I was aware of the forthcoming 50th anniversary commemoration of the visit of JFK to New Ross....

I've received the email, to which you refer, from the person who wants to borrow the sign.

I'd be very reluctant to let the sign out of my safe-keeping as it means a lot to me. Very fond memories.... I had better firstly run it by my sister, who did the sketch, to make sure that she is OK about it, and then I will contact Ray Flynn.

I have just taken the sign out of my attic and it is in good condition.

Thanks for contacting me.

Kind regards,
Peter O'Leary

Greetings Peter,

It's great to hear from you again -- so glad you answered the call of WHERE'S JFK WE HARDLY KNEW YE?

I heard back from Ray Flynn saying that the two of you had connected and will be making arrangements to display the sign in the New Ross museum.

I wonder if you'll be delivering the sign to New Ross in person -- it would be great if you posed for a photo with the sign at the quay beside the statue of JFK.

Please keep ORWELL TODAY readers in the loop on the JFK WE HARDLY KNEW YE saga -- and pics of the sign would be doubleplusmuch appreciated.

All the best,
Jackie Jura
