To Orwell Today,
re: TAKING CANDY FROM INDIAN BABY
I have recently read your article on Native Land Rights. The opinion that you hold on this subject is quite disturbing.
I am half Woolustuick or Malecite and half Scottish. I am living proof that our two races can co-exist: I have both blood types running through my veins. The Native side of me is disgusted with the way my race is viewed, and my non-native side ashamed with the way my non-native ancestors treated my native ancestors.
Your article is a perfect example of the lingering racist outlook on the whole subject. THIS IS NATIVE LAND AND IT WAS STOLEN. Natives have claim to all lands whether you like it or not.
Imagine this: you are light years ahead of every other society in the ways of human rights, so much so that land and all of its resources could not be owned, they belonged to everyone. Then a strange race shows up and leaves themselves exposed to the elements. Naturally the Natives help the strangers survive, just to be betrayed by this race for centuries. These wounds have never been healed and never will while we have people like you. I think you need a lesson in empathy and stop being so selfish. It is people like you who give your race a terrible name.
Sincerly,
Austin Paul
Greetings Austin,
Many of us in North America have so-called "native blood" running through our veins from being descendents of assimilation between Indians and Anglo-Europeans starting a few hundred years ago and continuing down through the generations to present day. Your blood's no more Canadian than mine or any other true-blooded Canadian so quit playing the bloody race card.
I'm not going to repeat what I've already said in the many articles listed on the website - starting with I WON'T ACCEPT INDIAN BLAME up to the most recent, ie HEAP BIG SALARY INDIAN CHIEFS.
Put that in your peace pipe and smoke it.
All the best,
Jackie Jura
To Orwell Today,
You are a fucking idiot. It is pretty easy to be tough hiding behind a computer. If I had you in front of me you would be singing a different tune.
