To Orwell Today,
Dear Jackie,
I am wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Yes, you were right in your PEACE TALK NO ACTION answer to my mail: The last NYT article was better, but still not good enough. Anyway, it's nice to see some reaction from them, it's for this kind of little things that I keep sending rebuttals whenever I think I should do so.
What to say about the conference on peace in Kivu? Kabila, his government and mostly his xenophobic close colaborators such as Kamerhe, Malu Malu, Sekimonyo, Barihima to name just a few, and Monuc cannot swallow the military defeat. I just trust Nkunda and all CNDP's judgement, they know there is a trap, an obvious one. I trust their integrity, they will know how to wrestle this new obstacle to the true peace. Instead of facing their victors, Kabila and Co. prefer to cheat everyone and create a wide "apparent grass root base" of 600 delegates. As you are familiar with our history, you know such a move is just meant to put in place easy mechanisms of corrupting simple delegates using money, in exchange for them to adopt a xenophobic stand. So no peace deal will be sought, only more division. The western tax payer's money (not the chinese) will be again used to fuel divisionism. Besides you can see below that the UN warmongers have got their mandate extended for another full year.
UN renews mandate for Congo peacekeeping force. Africa Reuters, Dec 22, 2007
We are back to square one (before Sun City?). The Nairobi agreement is being sidelined olympically!!!
I am grateful to you for this exchange of views, it's not easy to find someone who understands the conflict in the Great Lakes the way you do.
Again have a wonderful Christmas season,
Antoinette Kankindi
Greetings Antoinette,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too and thank you for helping shine the light of truth on Laurent Nkunda and the Congo for "Orwell Today" readers.
All the best,
Jackie Jura
