To Orwell Today,
Hi Jackie,
The wasp helicopters are back plus loads of police. They swamped the local common yesterday to catch any kids playing scrambling. The story was on BBC local news yesterday. This area has a history of motorbike speedway champions. All the common heathlands were originally Canford Heath. Kids scrambled on bikes since the 1950s, now it's illegal. I lived on Mannings farm on Mannings heath as a child. Practically all the heaths are built on now.

Hi Raymond,
There's no honour in being a cop these days, that's for sure. In 1984 Orwell said "the war is being waged by each ruling group against its own subjects" and we are witnessing that happen now. At the moment they are mainly concentrating on 'easy pickings' like children, teenagers and youth. And closing off places where children can play is all part of what is called "sustainable development" wherein any undeveloped land is for the benefit of four-legged critters or elites and environmentalists (who have a four-legged mentality).
All the best,
Jackie Jura
