CANADA REJECTS REFUGEES FROM NAURU

Most of everything JFK stood for, and died for, has been destroyed in the 38 years since his assassination. Now, symbolically, the very people who saved his life - the citizens of Nauru* - are deemed not worthy to come to Canada. They are being made scapegoats for crimes perpetrated on them by international money-launderers and tax-evaders from America, Communist China and Soviet Russia - the three Orwellian superstates.

Canada restricts Nauru refugees (impoverished by international money-launderers). National Post, Dec 6, 2001

Ottawa toughens requirements for visitors from eight countries (Hungary, Zimbabwe, four tiny islands in South Pacific). National Post, Dec 5, 2001

The news articles announcing Nauru's exclusion by the Immigration Department make no mention of the role Nauru played in the future of the free world*. If it hadn't been for the Nauru natives, JFK would have died in the South Pacific and the world would never have experienced the brief and shining moment of his presidency.

Here, before it's thrown into the Orwellian memory hole, is the story of JFK and his relationship to Nauru, the world's smallest independent republic:

"Any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction, I served in the United States Navy," wrote President John F. Kennedy in August 1963...

Nauru hunger strike a tragedy (Afghan men sew lips together; 280 asylum seekers including 93 children). Sydney Herald, Dec 22, 2003. Go to AFGHANISTAN AFTERMATH

* JFK SWAM TO NARU NOT NAURU (one is in the Solomons & the other is in the Gilberts). "JFK didn't swim 1,000 miles" (points out an astute reader)

Island state loses touch with world (last message from Nauru referred to 'critical situation'). National Post, Wednesday, February 26, 2003. Go to NAURU SYMBOLISM

Note: As a surprise for JFK a float of the PT109 was made for the Inaugural Parade and the original crew members saluted the new president as their float passed his podium.

Note: The coconut was so precious to JFK that it sat on his desk in the Oval Office. It is now on display in the JFK Library)

Note: A life-scale model of PT-109 rested on a shelf in JFK's Oval Office.

A good WWII movie to rent is PT109. It was produced during JFK's lifetime and is exciting and historicallly accurate. It's available in most video stores.
